New Year in New York

New Year in New York,

It was the early morning of December 29, 2008; we left Prince Hall-Amherst for New York to start the New Year with thousands of people in Time Square Manhattan. People from different states were gathering to celebrate the New Year in New York.
Snowing, breezing wind and intolerable chill drifted people to both sides of the avenues and made them to find shelters to wait until midnight. Restaurants and bars were full of those who were waiting for midnight to see how the big balloon comes down to declare the beginning of the New Year.
Walking in Manhattan you will think that you are in a deep valley, the sky looks like a blue strip over your head. The more we were approaching to the midnight the crowed was getting increasing and the strip-shaped sky was changing to golden color.
I tried to stay outside to share the feeling of New Year with the cowed, but the sharp and breezing wind made me to join my friend in the restaurant which was located near the Time Square intersection. We spent 6 hours in restaurant waiting for New Year and being safe of chill!!
